In 1937, just after the Great Depression, a group of Railway Postal Clerks in Kansas City would pass the hat to help one another in times of need. That small group grew into GEHA (Government Employees Health Association).
GEHA was one of the first carriers to provide plans to federal employees under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Act of 1959. At that time, we expanded our scope to offer medical plans to federal employees and retirees from all agencies and branches of government.

Today, GEHA offers one of the largest national medical and one of the largest national dental plans serving federal employees, covering more than 2 million federal employees, retirees and their dependents.
