Arthur A. Nizza, DSW
President and Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Nizza has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the health care industry and has held senior leadership roles at major integrated delivery systems in the Midwest and Northeast. His experience includes roles as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer at for-profit and non-profit companies, academic medical centers and faith-based institutions. Most recently, Nizza served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UnityPoint Health (UPH) in Des Moines, Iowa.

Richard Bierman
Chief Legal Officer
Richard Bierman leads the legal, compliance, privacy, enterprise risk, vendor management and government affairs functions. Bierman provides legal and strategic advice to the business on corporate, contracting, governance, regulatory and litigation matters. He also serves as president and board member of GEHA’s for-profit subsidiaries — Surety Life Insurance Company (50+ state licensed insurance carrier) and GEHA Solutions, Inc. (dental network leasing business). Bierman has over 25 years of legal and industry experience, initially at law firms and later serving in general counsel roles at health care and health insurance companies.
John Brown, Jr.
Chief Operating Officer
In the role of Chief Operating Officer, John Brown Jr. leads customer care, claims and enrollment, medical/dental network management, provider data management, and people and culture. Brown has over 30 years of experience leading human resources, customer service, and administrative efficiency spanning multiple industries, including 20 years of operations experience at large insurers such as Humana and Aetna.
David Hakanson
Chief Transformation Officer
David Hakanson oversees the information technology sector and spearheads efforts to reduce complexity in our business model for both employees and members. Hakanson has over 20 years of information technology experience — primarily in the health care sector — leading technology functions for both multi-state, nonprofit health care providers and private research university health care systems.
John A. Johnson, MD, MBA, FACP
Chief Medical Officer
As Chief Medical Officer, John A. Johnson leads the clinical operations division including clinical quality and population health, medical management, health and wellness, and pharmacy management. Dr. Johnson focuses on elevating the quality of member care and improving members’ overall health and well-being. Dr. Johnson is a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Command and a decorated veteran with over 20 prestigious awards. He has over 25 years of experience in internal medicine and as a Chief Medical Officer.
Scott Robidoux
Vice President — Actuary & Analytics
Scott Robidoux leads data and analytics with oversight for enterprise data governance, data integration, analytic solutions and applications, and the delivery of business-focused data and analytics. In addition, Robidoux is responsible for benefit and rate modeling, as well as reserve calculation, experience monitoring/forecasting, and HEDIS/CAHPS analytical support. Robidoux has 19 years of actuarial and health care industry experience.
Alexis Rolloff
Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer
Alexis Rolloff oversees innovation and strategy efforts at GEHA, spearheading initiatives to drive transformation as well as fostering a culture of innovation among our teams. Rolloff has over 20 years of health care domain experience including senior roles in corporate planning and performance, marketing, and regulatory affairs.
Joe Stasi
Chief Financial Officer
Joe Stasi provides leadership for the finance division, which is comprised of financial reporting, accounting operations, internal audit, special investigations, facilities, and financial planning and analysis. With more than 28 years of CFO experience, Stasi is focused on strategy and execution of day-to-day financial operations, shared leadership of GEHA’s transformation initiatives, and development of long-term financial strategy and company position.
Raj Vavilala
Chief Sales, Marketing & Product Officer
Raj Vavilala leads sales, marketing, product, communications, and customer experience. Vavilala is focused on delivering brand promise through the development, implementation, and administration of GEHA’s product portfolio, sales, and marketing programs. Vavilala is a marketing leader with more than 20 years of experience in helping large insurance companies to serve their members and, in turn, achieve growth and profitability for the enterprises.
