Your account balance rolls over from year to year. You can earn up to $500 annually per subscriber and covered spouse. Download our Wellness Pays QuickStart Guide (PDF) to learn more.

Spending rewards

Use your Wellness Pays reloadable debit card from HealthEquity to pay for eligible services through your health care provider as well as stores and pharmacies with an Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS) checkout system. IIAS checkout systems automatically verify if an item is a qualified expense. For the latest list of IIAS approved merchants, visit sig-is.org. You can also download our list of 213(d) qualified medical expenses to better understand the many ways you can use your rewards.

To submit a claim for reimbursement on expenses that do not automatically verify, please register your account with HealthEquity.

FAQs

Q: Who is eligible to earn rewards?
A: Subscribers and covered spouses can earn rewards. G.E.H.A Medicare Advantage enrollees are not eligible to earn G.E.H.A Wellness Pays rewards.

Q: What would cause a termination to my Wellness Pays account?
A: There are five scenarios in which your Wellness Pays account will terminate:
1. Change in health plan from Elevate or Elevate Plus (Wellness Pays) to Standard, High or HDHP (Health Rewards), or vice versa.
2. Change in eligibility to participate in the Wellness Pays program.
3. Change in enrollment status from subscriber to dependent, or vice versa.
4. Termination of your underlying medical coverage.
5. Enrolling in a G.E.H.A Medicare Advantage Plan. G.E.H.A Medicare Advantage enrollees aren't eligible to earn G.E.H.A Wellness Pays rewards.

Q: Can I spend my rewards balance after termination of my Wellness Pays account?
A: Yes, you can continue to access your funds for six months following termination from the reward program. Your available balance can be applied to reimbursements for qualified expenses that occurred during your effective medical plan coverage (first day of plan eligibility through the day before plan termination).
