New to G.E.H.A?
Contact your federal agency’s personnel office to make your medical plan selection. You may be able to enroll using your agency’s preferred enrollment system. Learn more at opm.gov. Outside of Open Season, new federal employees may enroll within 60 days of becoming eligible for the program. Other special circumstances may allow you to enroll or change your FEHB coverage outside of Open Season.
How to enroll in a dental plan
If you're ready to enroll, just follow these easy steps:
One easy step
Federal employees, federal retirees, military retirees and their families can sign up for G.E.H.A Connection Dental Federal by contacting BENEFEDS. The secure BENEFEDS portal includes an online tutorial to direct you through the enrollment process. It also offers frequently asked questions and online help.
After you enroll, G.E.H.A will send you:
- An enrollment kit with a plan brochure and questionnaire
- Your dental plan ID card (in a separate mailing)

Already a satisfied G.E.H.A member?
Again, if you don’t want to make any changes to your coverage, you don’t have to do anything during Open Season. Your current coverage will carry over into the new year. If you want to make changes, follow our simple step-by-step instructions above.
