GEHA stands with those impacted by hurricanes Helene and Milton

GEHA responds with support to aid hurricane recovery for Helene and Milton.

Our hearts go out to the people of the Southeast United States affected by the devastating effects of the historic hurricane season this year.

To immediately assist our members throughout this region, we are doing the following:

Prescriptions
GEHA will approve a one-time emergency refill of medication for medical plan members for states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. In cooperation with CVS Caremark, affected members within the emergency area taking specialty medications can contact to discuss alternate delivery arrangements or courier service, if needed. Medical management

  • GEHA is authorizing exemptions of prior authorizations for its members regarding several key medical needs
  • No prior authorization will be required for skilled nursing facility stays, hospital-to-hospital transfers or oxygen
  • No late penalties will be applied for any delays in authorization requests
  • Replacement of durable medical equipment (DME) will be allowed and will not be subject to standard benefit limitations. Coverage may include: oxygen equipment, wheelchairs, crutches or testing supplies for people living with diabetes, hypertension or other chronic conditions.

Dental
If you are a FEDVIP dental member affected by the hurricane, you can use teledentistry.com — and GEHA will waive the annual limitation on this benefit.

Virtual care
Members of GEHA health plans have access to MDLIVE virtual visits. MDLIVE is offering one no-cost virtual urgent care or behavioral health visit.

  • Select Urgent Care (on-demand 24/7) or Behavioral Health (by appointment only) and schedule an appointment with a provider.

Enter the promo code "MiltonUC" for urgent care and/or "MiltonBH" for behavioral health when presented with payment options to redeem a no-cost visit. Only one promo code can be used once during the next three months. Please note that these promo codes may not be available the longer you wait and are limited in availability.
