Visiting a doctor's office can be safe. Here are some ways to minimize exposure during your visit.

Winter is the time of year when tickles in the throat and stuffy noses are common. Symptoms may become so miserable you need to take yourself – or your children – into the doctor’s office.

Visiting a doctor's office can be safe. You can minimize your exposure during your visit by:

  • Calling the clinic to get its requirements for mask wearing by staff and visitors,
  • Asking about its cleaning and sanitizing protocol,
  • Following social distancing practices in the waiting room,
  • Learning the limits on the number of people allowed in the clinic at the same time and
  • Understanding how doctors and staff are using personal protective equipment.

  • To help make certain you have a safe visit, follow the clinic’s guidelines and don’t forget to wash your hands frequently.
